Be the Easter People

The daily activities of the Novitiate have been unaffected by the countrywide lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic. However, it has opened up new gates of imagination for spiritual and emotional depth. It has offered us with opportunities to plunge ourselves into depth level of prayer besides one hour of adoration in solidarity with the suffering humanity.

It is natural to feel isolated and despair in the midst of uncertainty. Although millions of people are directly affected by the pandemic and have lost their loved ones due to COVID-19, it has created such a situation that more people are suffering psychologically and mentally than the corona virus itself would cause.

But Easter gives us courage to walk patiently and confidently amidst despair and trial. Easter is the celebration of life, light and love. It is the celebration of the victory of Jesus Christ over death and all the forces of evil, such as pandemic, that tries to control the imagination and creativity of human beings. Easter, therefore, represents hope for the people who are in the grip of death, darkness and despair.
